Motivation: Visualize Your Healthy Self

One thing that I've started doing for this fast, and the ensuing dietary change, is to mentally visualize myself as a fit, healthy person.  I'm talking about actually developing a mental picture of what I'm going to look like when I am at a healthy weight.  The guy in my head looks so different than the guy in my skin that even I almost don't recognize him

I've never done this before, during any of my previous attempts or otherwise, but let me tell you...it is MOTIVATING!  Try it.  Really try it.  You'll be amazed at how it will help improve your morale and drive.  Just look at some of the before/after photos in these success stories.  The people look completely different.  You and I can will too!

Magic Number and the Aria

Congratulations to me!  Today was the 21st day in a row that I did my 10-33s (3 sets of 10 push-ups, 33 bicycle crunches).  According to my amazing wife, repeating something 21 days makes it a habit.  I'll tell you that it IS starting to feel natural to wake up a few minutes earlier and knock those puppies out before I get on with my day, but it doesn't quite feel automatic just yet.  But, I do feel like I'll be able to keep it up from here on out.  Hopefully in another month or two it will be at that automatic stage.  Until then, I'll just keep plugging away.

Day 16

Well, I'm more than two weeks into my routine of logging my foods and doing my 10-33s every day.  So far, I've only had a few hiccups, but nothing to shed any tears over.  It all seems to be getting a bit easier, though I have found that I'm forgetting to log my calories as often as I should be.  I'm going to need to really knuckle down on that.  Only seven more days until it all becomes habit, or so my wife tells me.  I can't wait until I get to the point in my life when this is all so routine and second-nature that I don't even have to think about it to make sure it gets done.

Measurements coming soon, I promise!  I'll try to do them before I go to bed tonight....

Rough day

Well, I started the day off alright, but finished it out with a 1500 calorie meal from Applebee's.  Back to the old grindstone tomorrow, I suppose.
