Put to the test. Also, addition of a cheat day.

It's been two days since my last post. My family and spent the day in Albuquerque yesterday, and one of our favorite things to do there is eat at a Brazilian grill (Tucano's). Well, lets just say that Tucano's is the Anti-Diet. It is basically an all-you-can eat meat factory. You sit down, grab a salad bar and then prepare as an endless stream of guys come to your table with a variety of skewers.
It's also pretty pricey, so you feel compelled to eat until you feel the lining of your stomach start to tear--then you're done. Needless to say, this necessitated the addition of a "cheat day" to the meal plan. I don't feel guilty about it, though, because one of the things that cause most diets to fail is the feeling of being too restricted. As long as one doesn't go WAY overboard on a cheat day, there is no reason that it can't work out in your favor. The key is to limit the cheat days to one per week plus special occasions and holidays (if possible, roll those into the once per week). And for the record, even with the indulgence, I still came in just below my Basal Metabolic Rate, which means I didn't put any weight back on.  That was Saturday.

Today, I did a great job of getting back on the wagon.  I even attended a birthday party, had some pizza, cake, and ice cream.  I may end up going over my goal by about 100 calories, but that's still pretty darned good.
