type='text'>Long, busy week</title><content type='html'>Well, here it is on Sunday, and I still haven't posted the measurements and pics I promised last Tuesday. &amp;nbsp;Guess I'll just hold out until next Tuesday and post a bi-weekly measurement. &amp;nbsp;This past week has been pretty busy with illnesses in the family, houseguests, and soccer/cub scouts/girl scouts. &amp;nbsp;I haven't been doing a very good job of staying on my meal plan or exercising, but I have been keeping track of my calories and have managed to keep them close to my daily goal. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I got a new elliptical the other day and put it in the living room, so now I'll have a way to get my elliptical workout in while I'm at home. &amp;nbsp;Yay!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And, that's all I've got for My family and spent the day in Albuquerque yesterday, and one of our favorite things to do there is eat at a Brazilian grill (Tucano&amp;#39;s).  Well, lets just say that Tucano&amp;#39;s is the Anti-Diet.  It is basically an all-you-can eat meat factory. I don't like to call it a diet, though.&amp;#160; That word just conjures up too many negative connotations.&amp;#160; Instead, I prefer to call it a meal plan (although, the "eating strategy" term that I just coined sounds even catchier).&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It's funny that the word "diet" had become such a negative word in our society, though.&amp;#160; All "diet" means is how you eat.&amp;#160; If all you ate were Twinkies and ice cream, that would be your diet.&amp;#160; Last night, I decided to try a new meal plan.&amp;#160; The plan is to eat one, 200-250 calorie meal every 2 hours for a total of eight mini-meals per day.&amp;#160; In theory, this will crank up my metabolism and get my stomach used to smaller portions so I don't feel hungry as often.&amp;#160; This first day on the plan went fairly well.&amp;#160; Whenever I started to feel hungry, I would fill the void with copious amounts of water.&amp;#160; I stuck with it right up until a coworker's family brought out a pan of hot, fresh brownies and against my better judgement, I indulged.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;All in all, I only went over my calorie goal by 490 calories.&amp;#160; I intended to work that off with some quality time on the elliptical, but the day seemed to fly by too fast--I really need to work on my exercise motivation.&amp;#160; Trying to stick to my meal plan, but after beakfast, I'm left with under 800 calories to finish out the day.  Maybe my calorie goal of 1880 per day is just too low.  Or, maybe it's time I started exercising to offset the difference.
